Reservoir located 10 miles from Bloomington Indiana. Indiana's largest lake, and only federally protected US area in the state surrounds this. It is known for Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Walleye, White/Black Crappie, Bluegill, and Smallmouth bass. Everything grows very big here! There's tons of forage too, they even stock it!
A great fishing destination for bass, walleye, catfish, striper, and panfish anglers. They stock it regularly to ensure good numbers, but these fish all grow quite large. Lakes like these almost always keep anglers very satisfied with the variety of fish acting as a security blanket. If one type of fishing isn't going well, switch to another! 2 Augusts ago, an angler caught a 57 pound flathead catfish. There are definitely big fish to be had!
Brookville Lake is a multi species lake most known for Bass, Crappie, Catfish and really big Walleye! A lot of 28 inch fish come out of this lake every year. It fishes really well in spring and fall but has awesome bites in the summer too, even the winter. There is also a great tailwater fishery for really nice Brown Trout if you're into the fly fishing too! There are a few great options and guides for both of these fisheries for those who want to learn how to tackle them.
