Ship Creek (AK)

Alaska

Created by potrace 1.10, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2011

Ship Creek is a pretty unique fishery. It's right in downtown Anchorage and is very easily accessible. It has a pretty solid run of Chinook Salmon and throughout the summer it gets Silvers, Reds, and Pinks too. Because of the easy access right close in town, there are normally a lot of other fishermen here. It can be very crowded, but it is ideal for short trips or week days. Tides are also very important. In most situations, your chances at fish are much higher during high tide rather than low. Fish over 25 pounds get caught every year and lots of 10-20s also come out. You MUST keep up with the changing regulations here, and take a chance at your first King Salmon here if you're in Anchorage!
