Thunnus albacares
Yellowfin tuna has a streamlined, torpedo-shaped body with a metallic dark blue back that transitions to silver on the sides and belly. Its most distinctive features are the bright yellow dorsal and anal fins, and yellow finlets with black edges. The second dorsal and anal fins can grow extremely long in mature specimens, sometimes extending to more than 20% of the fish's total length. Yellowfin has long pectoral fins that extend beyond the start of the second dorsal fin but not past the end of the dorsal fin base.
