Salvelinus fontinalis
Also known as: charr, salter, sea trout, coaster brook trout, aurora trout
Brook trout are native to small, cold, spring-fed streams and are a favorite for wilderness fishing. They have either green or silver bodies, with a blueish or black colored back sporting a yellow, leopard-like vermiculation on their backs, with red and yellow spots and blue halos surrounding some of them. They also normally have very red bellies in their mature stages during spawn.
